Psychology 11 - Course Outline and Expectations
|
READINGS - we will be doing regular readings from the textbook, contemporary media, case studies, experiments and journals. Assignments and quizzes will largely stem from these readings
PROJECTS and TESTS - Periodically throughout the class, students will be required to complete a larger "project." This may take the form of a research assignment, powerpoint, presentation, experiment or a poster. Projects are generally designed to allow students to communicate their expertise in a more formalized setting and more time will be given on these. Tests may occur throughout the semester, with lots of warning given, and if used, will be designed so that students can showcase their learning in a more summative fashion
DISCUSSION - Discussion is perhaps the largest requirement in this class and will occur daily. Students will be given topics to discuss and will communicate these with the teacher, their peers, and the larger class itself. Students will be required to treat each discussion respectfully and educationally.
